I'll be adding paintings to this blog at irregular times. My old blog had as part of the title "painting a day" and I never lived up to that.

Marvin
Inspired by another blogging artist (and the imminent visit by my daughters), I cleaned up a bit in my studio and found this portrait done a few months ago at Friday portrait session. It's of my neighbor, a retired minister. His adornments are beads and trinkets acquired on a visit to New Orleans. oil on canvas 11 X 14 NFS
Thanks, Celeste. Yes he's a very nice guy (except,I guess, when he burns yard waste like every one out in the boonies does).(Now that he knows smoke suddenly billowing thru open windows and doors irritates my throat, he's going to give me advance warning.)
I'm mostly retired and living in an area that is one of the country's premier spots for beauty- the Columbia Gorge. My house/studio is located out in the country (1st time for this city boy) bringing both joy and challenges.
You achieve such perfect flesh tones! Your neighbor looks friendly!
