I'll be adding paintings to this blog at irregular times. My old blog had as part of the title "painting a day" and I never lived up to that.

Chicken Charlie's Island
This painting is of an island in the Columbia River unofficially known as "Chicken Charlie's Island" because Charlie once ran a chicken farm on it. He was reputedly something of a hermit. The island is a little to the east of Hood River, OR. oil on canvas $500 unframed
Thanks, Celeste. I put this away for several months thinking the cliffs across the river were too over-stated.After seeing it with "fresh" eyes I decided they weren't.
I'm mostly retired and living in an area that is one of the country's premier spots for beauty- the Columbia Gorge. My house/studio is located out in the country (1st time for this city boy) bringing both joy and challenges.
wow... what beautiful light!
